Five Tracy-area players were highlighted ahead of the 49th Central California Lions All-Star Football Game, which was set for Saturday at Wayne Schneider Stadium.

The story spotlighted a five-player local group on the North team: Derek Bogetti, Lucky Tupouata, and Elijah Gutierrez from Tracy High, plus Jaylin Rodgers and Jermaine Nance from Kimball.

The North was to be coached by Tony Franks of St. Mary's while the South was to be led by Jeremy Plas of Downey, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

The preview also noted that Tony Franks entered the game among the winningest coaches in Sac-Joaquin Section history, while Jeremy Plas brought an established record of success at Downey. Recent series history also added context: the South had won five of the previous six games, including an 18-15 win in 2024, but the North still led the all-time series 26-19-2.

Fans were directed to GoFan for tickets, priced at $15.
